Scientists have become increasingly concerned as ice cover around the Arctic reached a record low this year, as shown in this NOAA Visualization Labs animation.
The Centre of Excellence's Prof Matthew England and Senior Research Scientist with the Australian Antarctic Climate and Ecosystem Cooperative Research Centre, Rob Masson spoke to The Wire (2SER-FM) about the significance of the record melt and what it could mean for our climate in the future.
