Interactions between rainfall drivers determine rainfall variability; however, little is currently known about how well climate models simulate these processes.  Sonya is investigating

rainfall variability attributed to the interaction between two climate oscillations that influence rainfall variability in eastern Australia, the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and the Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation (IPO).  She aims to determine how well the ACCESS climate model simulates this relationship in the twentieth century.
