Thesis Title

Changes in ocean properties and circulation and implications for global/regional distribution of sea level in the ACCESS model

Biography

Fabio is a physical oceanographer with an undergraduate and master degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande, Brazil. He has a strong background in ocean modelling, with a focus on the large and mesoscale circulation. The aim of his PhD project is to identify the role of ocean heat uptake and redistribution processes through the ACCESS (Australian Community Climate and Earth System Simulator), which in comparison with other climate models will help reduce uncertainty in sea level projections due to thermal expansion of sea water.
