Jan Zika is a lecturer in the School of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He carries out fundamental research on the role of the ocean and water in the changing climate. His research has helped to establish that the atmosphere is unlikely to become more energetic overall in a warming climate due to the effect of moisture. He is currently leading international work aimed at quantifying changes in global rainfall and evaporation over the last 60 years based on ocean observations. His webpage can be accessed here: http://sites.google.com/site/zikasocean/
