Thesis Title

The effect of tropical cyclone induced wave mixing on Australian ocean climate

Lachlan is a masters student at The University of Melbourne, studying the effects of tropical cyclones on ocean circulation and climate. He is interested in using numerical simulations of the atmosphere-ocean system to try and understand how cyclone winds may affect the large scale transport of heat in the oceans. The effect of surface wave breaking on upper ocean mixing is also being addressed. Lachlan also did his undergraduate degree in physics at The University of Melbourne
