Biography

Dr. Yi Huang is a post-doctoral research fellow working in the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment at Monash University. She has completed one post-doc at Monash University working on an ARC Linkage Project with the Bureau of Meteorology and CSIRO. She is now undertaking research on an ARC Discovery Project on boundary layer processes over the Southern Ocean: winds, turbulence and clouds.

Yi's areas of interest include: cloud and precipitation physics, cloud-aerosol-radiation interactions and their impacts on climate, boundary layer meteorology, mountain meteorology, and air pollution meteorology. Yi's current research is primary focused on extratropical regions, particularly over the Southern Ocean. Her main expertise includes airborne measurements of clouds and aerosols, atmospheric remote sensing (spaceborne and ground-based), and atmospheric modelling (WRF and ACCESS).
