Location: Mercure Hunter Valley Resort. Broke Rd, Pokolbin
Transport: 2.5 hours from Sydney. Buses will be chartered from Sydney Airport, UNSW and Newcastle Airport on the Monday.
- Newcastle Airport transfers: The Centre will arrange coach transfers from Newcastle Airport to meet flight VA1593 from Melbourne which lands at 13:55. This is the recommended flight for Melbourne and Hobart people. Alternatively, there is a Jetstar flight that lands at 13:15 if people don’t mind waiting. At the end of the workshop there will be bus transfers back to Newcastle airport in time to catch JQ479 to Melbourne.
Sydney Airport and UNSW: Bus transfers from Sydney Airport and from UNSW. Departing at 12:30pm. Buses will return to UNSW and Sydney Airport at the end of the workshop.

The third annual workshop of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Climate System Science will take place from November 24-27 at the Mercure Hunter Valley Resort in Pokolbin, NSW. The workshop will discuss progress and plans in all research areas covered by the CoE, namely, climate variability; tropical convection; climate extremes; and the role of the oceans and the land in the climate system. The workshop is open to everyone working in these areas regardless of their affiliation with the CoE.
The main form of presentation of scientific results at the workshop will be by poster. All participants are encouraged to present a poster. There will be no abstract submissions required, but participants will be asked to provide information on their poster at the time of registration. All oral presentations will be by invitation.
In addition to the main workshop, an Early Career Scientist and Student Event. Details and registration for this event will be available soon.
