Biography

Rob is a Research Fellow at Monash University working on an ARC Linkage Project with the Bureau of Meteorology and Suncorp Insurance. His research is primarily concerned with deep, moist convection in the atmosphere and its associated hazards such as hail, damaging winds, and flash flooding. He is interested in the dynamics and microphysics of these storms, the factors controlling spatial and temporal variations in their occurrence and characteristics, and their representation in weather and climate prediction models. His work involves the application of detailed observations, primarily from ground-based weather radars, and high-resolution numerical simulations.
