Thesis Title

Change and Variability of the Southern Ocean Freshwater Budget

Bella's personal and professional life has spanned the globe. Working and travelling abroad while developing environmental awareness has been a great opportunity, for her, to identify the cultural specificities of different regions and promote her intellectual curiosity of the broader impacts climate change and associated policy questions might have for diverse communities.

Her research at UTAS Institute for Marine & Antarctic Studies focuses on formulating a detection and attribution study that mankind has intervened on the Southern Ocean salinity structure, one in which rapid climate change is a dominant consequence. Her PhD project is an invaluable opportunity for improving our capacity to analyse climate change risk, identifying vulnerabilities, deepening evidence and developing the actionable geospatial tools so thought after in our country.
