David currently works in the School of Earth, Atmosphere and Environment, and is part of Monash Weather and Climate (MWAC). Previously he completed an undergraduate degree in science majoring in applied mathematics (2011), followed by an honour's degree in applied mathematics (2012), both at Monash.

David's research interests are in computational fluid dynamics, focused around coupled bushfire-atmosphere dynamics, pyro-convection and pyro-tornadogenesis. He studies the dynamics of severe convective storms that can be produced by extremely large bushfires using the atmospheric model CM1.
